Workspace ownership

The organization controls the workspace
A Handit workspace belongs to the business or other organization that creates, authorizes, or provides it—not automatically to the individual employee who first set it up. The organization controls its members, content, retention decisions, and use of the Service under the Terms.
The first admin
The person who creates a workspace becomes its first admin so someone can invite teammates and configure it. That role is administrative authority on the organization's behalf, not personal ownership of company data. Admins may add or remove members and change roles within the product.
When someone leaves or changes roles
The organization should maintain at least one current admin and promptly remove access for people who leave or no longer need it. A current admin can update membership. If no current admin is available, an authorized organization representative may ask us to help transfer control. We may require reasonable proof of authority before changing access.
Ownership disputes
We do not decide internal employment or ownership disputes. We will look first to the organization, its authorized representatives, verified company-domain information, and any written Customer agreement. We may temporarily restrict administrative changes while we verify authority or while a lawful order applies.
Export and workspace closure
An authorized admin may request a reasonable export or closure by emailing hello@handit.to. We verify authority before closing a workspace. Once closed, content becomes inaccessible and follows the deletion schedule in the Privacy Policy. A departed individual does not have a unilateral right to export company-controlled workspace content.
